Acquanetta Warren: leading the way to a better future. |
Fontana Vice Mayor Acquanetta Warren is an energetic leader with an inspiring story of hope and the enduring promise of California.
Acquanetta currently serves as Mayor Pro-Tem of the city of Fontana. The city, once considered something of a backwater, has become one of the fastest growing cities in the Inland Empire and has been recognized by CNN/Money Magazine as one of the 24 best cities to raise a family.
She was appointed to the City Council in 2002 and has been overwhelmingly re-elected twice elected in 2004 and 2008 – winning broad support across the political spectrum. Her current term will expire in November 2012.
Acquanetta recently completed her term as Vice Chair, Inland Region on the California Republican Party Board of Directors and is member of the San Bernardino County Republican Central Committee and numerous Republican volunteer clubs.
Ms. Warren is Deputy Director of Public Works in the City of Upland. Previously she worked at Bank of America, Lloyds of California and First Interstate banks as Vice President/Group Product Manager for Cash Management Services. Ms. Warren also worked for City of Los Angeles 8th District Councilman Robert Farrell and the LA County District Attorney’s Office as a member of the District Attorneys Youth Advisory Board.
She received her B.A. in Political Science/ Urban Studies from Occidental College.
Acquanetta grew up in a tough neighborhood in south-central Los Angeles, an experience that helped forge her understanding of the need for self-reliance and responsibility in order to build a better life.
She has three children - Anthony, Jamaal and Aajee.
